Iran’s Tea Import, Export Set New Records: IRICA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – According to the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran’s import and export of tea set new records in the past Iranian calendar year of 1401 (ended on March 20, 2023).

According to IRCA, Iran exported and imported $44.2 million and $665 million worth of tea in the previous Iranian calendar year respectively.

Earlier, the maximum record of Iran’s tea exports in terms of weight was set in 2014 which was broken last year.

Iran produced about 26,000 tons of quality tea last year, about 10,000 tons of which were exported.

Iran’s export of tea registered a 34.8 percent hike last year as compared to a year earlier, IRICA added.
