IPL: Sepahan Victorious, Esteghlal Held
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman 2-0 while Esteghlal was held to a 1-1 draw against Sanat Naft in Tehran on Friday.
Nilson Junior opened the scoring for the visiting team Sepahan in the 48th minute and Sina Bakhtiarinasab scored an own goal in the 54th minute.
In Tehran, Peyman Babaei found the back of the net for Esteghlal in the 45th minute but Mehdi Mamizadeh leveled the score in the 62nd minute.
Mes Rafsanjan beat Malavan 4-0 in Bandar Anzali, Tractor defeated Mes 3-1 in Kerman, and Zob Ahan earned a 2-0 win over Foolad in Isfahan.
Persepolis will play Paykan in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Nassaji face Havadar and Gol Gohar play Aluminum in Sirjan.
With two weeks remaining, Sepahan leads the IPL table with 59 points, two points ahead of Persepolis who has one game in hand.
Esteghlal sits third with 56 points.
