Shahdab Looking for Title at 2023 Asian Club Volleyball C’ship: Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shahdab head coach Mohammad Reza Tondarvan said they want to win the title at the 2023 Asian Club Volleyball Championship.

The 23rd Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Bahrain from May 24 to 31, and Shahdab Yazd team will represent Iran in this competition.

“All participating teams have hired good foreign players and these games have become attractive in the recent years. Unlike the past, there are about six good teams. The South Gas of Iraq has recruited some good foreign players. We are drawn with South Gas, Taichung Bank (Chinese Taipei) and Kam Air (Afghanistan) in Pool B,” he said.

Pool A consists of Bahrain, South Korea, Australia, and Indonesian teams.

Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, and Yemen are in Group C and Kazakhstan, Qatar, Hong Kong, and Kuwait teams are drawn in Pool D.

“We will travel to Bahrain a few days earlier and our setter Saeid Marouf will join us in Bahrain and if possible, we will have a few preparatory games,” he added.

“Shahdab is looking for the best result and winning the championship, but the conditions of the competition will be determined at the same moment. The goal is the championship and we hope to get the best results in the competition,” Tondravan concluded.
