Javadi Snatches Bronze at 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Mir Mostafa Javadi won a bronze medal in the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Wednesday.
He came third in the men's 89kg class after lifting a total of 364kg.
Javadi lifted 159kg in the snatch and 205kg in the clean and jerk.
Chinese weightlifter Li Dayin won the gold medal after achieving a total of 396kg.
His compatriot Tian Tao claimed the silver with 387kg.
The Asian Weightlifting Championships are being held in Jinju, Republic of Korea from May 5 to 13.
The continental championship is the second qualifying event for the Paris Olympic Games after the World Weightlifting Championships 2022.
