Iran Condemns US, European Meddling in Its Affairs

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the interfering comments in Iran’s domestic affairs made by a number of American and European officials following the recent execution of three convicts on charge of terrorist attacks.

In a statement released on Saturday, Nasser Kanaani condemned the fresh interfering remarks from a number of American and European officials against the Islamic Republic.

The spokesman said the Western politicians had better hear the voices of protest from their own citizens and spend their time on fulfilling the humanitarian rights and civil demands in their own countries instead of interfering in the internal affairs of the other states and displaying a fake humanitarian image.

“The widespread violation of the basic rights of the Western citizens, including the right to freedom of speech, the police and the security forces’ resort to excessive violence against protestors in Europe and the US, as well as issuing political statements about the internal laws of the other countries clearly demonstrate the instrumental use of human rights in order to pursue and fulfill the illegitimate political purposes and interests,” Kanaani added.

It is totally ridiculous that the ones that have a dark record of brazen violation of human rights against the other nations, are openly violating the rights of their own citizens in their own countries, have remained silent on the Zionist regime’s crimes and everyday atrocities against the Palestinian nation and have even supported those crimes would comment on the judicial punishment given to killers and promoters of violence against the Iranian people’s lives, calm and security, he added.

“Europe and the US lack the legal, judicial and moral competence to comment on the judicial and human rights-related issues in the other countries,” the Iranian spokesman concluded.

His comments came after a number of Western officials expressed concern about the execution of three men in Iran, who were convicted of launching a deadly terrorist attack against security forces in the city of Isfahan during foreign-backed riots last year.
