Iran-Indonesia Relations Enter New Phase: ICT Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The amicable and friendly ties between Iran and Indonesia have entered a new phase, Iran's ICT minister said.

Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) Issa Zarepour, who is in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta accompanying President Ebrahim Raisi in his visit to this Southeast Asian country, pointed to 11 cooperation agreements inked between the two sides in various fields and added that the amicable bilateral relations have entered a new phase.

Iran and Indonesia inked cooperation documents in the fields of trade, energy, science, technology and culture, he said, adding that effective steps have been taken in order to ensure the implementation of agreements.

These cooperation agreements were signed by the Iranian foreign and oil ministers, vice-president for science and technology and also deputy minister of industry, mine and trade, the head of the Iran-Indonesia Joint Economic Commission stated.

Raisi arrived in Jakarta on Tuesday at the head of a high-ranking political and economic delegation at the official invitation of his Indonesian counterpart.
