Iranian, Turkish FMs Underline Further Development of Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Çavuşoğlu on Wednesday evening emphasized strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Amirabdollahian seized the opportunity to congratulate Recep Tayyip Erdogan's reelection as Turkish president and also the victory of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the parliamentary elections.
Iran’s top diplomat expressed hope that amicable cooperation between the two countries will further expand in the new government based on the will and wishes of the presidents of the two countries.
Pointing to the invitation extended by Erdogan to Raisi for participating in the inauguration ceremony of the Turkish president, he noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran will take part in the ceremony at the highest level.
The Turkish foreign minister, for his part, thanked Amirabdollahian for his congratulatory message and said that he will spare no effort to take effective steps to enhance amicable relations between Iran and Turkey.
In addition to strengthening bilateral cooperation, Çavuşoğlu emphasized the need for the two countries’ cooperation on regional issues.
