Iran, Qatar Urge Development of Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar called for efforts to enhance relations between Tehran and Doha in various fields.
In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani talked about the issues of mutual interest.
Amirabdollahian pointed to the friendly and close ties between Iran and Qatar, stressing the need for the expansion of bilateral relations.
He also appreciated the positive role and constructive efforts of the Qatari government in the bilateral, regional and international relations.
Amirabdollahian also held consultations with his Qatari counterpart over the latest bilateral and regional developments.
For his part, the Qatari foreign minister expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between his country and Iran.
He praised the two sides’ joint efforts and the progress in their relations, emphasizing the need for keeping up close interaction, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
