Iran Suffers Narrow Loss against Netherlands in 2023 VNL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to the Netherlands 3-2 (16-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-17, 15-10) in Rotterdam in Week 2 of the 2023 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on Saturday.
Nimir Abdel-Aziz led the Netherlands with 27 points, and Iran’s Amin Esmaeilnezhad collected 21 points.
Iran will travel to Anaheim, USA to meet France, Bulgaria, Argentina and Cuba from July 4 to 9.
The Preliminary Phase campaign started on June 6 and includes matches in Nagoya (Japan), Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and Anaheim (USA).
If Iran qualifies for the VNL Finals as one of top eight teams, it will travel to Gdansk, Poland for the event from July 19 through 23.
