Iran-Kazakhstan Economic Cooperation Road Map Finalized


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The road map of economic cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan aimed at expanding and developing economic exchanges between the two countries was finalized.

This was announced in a meeting of Iran’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Alireza Payman-Pak and Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade Serik Zhumangarin, where they discussed bilateral ties and the latest situation of trade-economic cooperation road map between the two countries.

Following the finalization of the road map, the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Kazakhstan is targeted to reach $3 billion within the next two years, they said. 

In this meeting, which was attended by the ministers of trade, industry and agriculture of Kazakhstan, in addition to reaching an agreement regarding the dispatching of a trade and economic delegation from Kazakhstan to Iran concurrent with the Building Industry Exhibition in Tehran, the two sides agreed to set up industrial and production units as a joint venture in the fields of medical equipment, textile and food industries.

The Kazakh deputy prime minister emphasized enhancing trade and economic cooperation with Iran and mandated the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture to settle the problems in the way of importing dairy and aquatic animals from Iran.

Several contracts were also finalized between Iran and Kazakhstan for exporting agricultural and food products as well as exporting required raw materials to Kazakhstan.
