Iran-Kazakhstan Trade Hits $528 Million in 2022

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official at Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture put the value of trade exchanges between Iran and Kazakhstan in 2022 at $528 million.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Resources and Management Development Affairs Houshang Mohammadi said that Iran’s exports to Kazakhstan account for $210 million of the total value of $528 million in annual trade between the two countries.

In the one-year period, Kazakhstan exported $318 million worth of products to Iran, he added.

The deputy minister pointed out that economic, trade, scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries is rapidly growing.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the recent visit of the prime minister of Kazakhstan to Iran and his meeting with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, saying the visit indicates the significance of expansion of relations between the two countries in all fields.

Mohammadi noted that the two countries have held 18 meetings to promote cooperation in the economic, trade, scientific, technical and cultural fields.

The presidents of the two countries have set a target of $3 billion in annual trade, he said, adding, “Giant strides were taken to fulfill the objective of attaining $3 billion worth of bilateral trade.”

The meeting of Iran-Kazakhstan Joint Chamber of Commerce was held at the venue of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) in the presence of Mohammadi, Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture for International Affairs Hooman Fathi, the Kazakh ambassador to Tehran, and representatives of private sector of the two countries.
