Iran Raps West’s Double Standards As Chaos, Protests Grip Zionists
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry denounced Western media for their double standards in covering the news of massive crippling protests that have engulfed the Israeli regime for months.
In a post on his Twitter account on Sunday, Nasser Kanaani lashed out at the “Western media empire” for turning a blind eye to the Zionist regime’s suppression and violence against protesters in the occupied territories.
He said Western media seek to distort the reality and portray the protests across the occupied territories as a symbol of fake democracy in Israel, which resembles the censorship of the massacre and repression of Palestinians by the Zionists.
The protests, strikes, and crippling demonstrations, participated by hundreds of thousands of people across the occupied territories in the past several months, have been met with suppression with the use of modern means of violence against protesters and the concealment of the death toll and statistics for the people injured and arrested by the Zionist regime’s security and police forces, he added.
Kanaani also took a swipe at Western media for the widespread coverage of minor rallies or protests in countries that are not the West’s allies, saying those media outlets, at the same time, tell “the big lie of advocating the freedom of speech and human rights” or describe the riots, chaos, violence and vandalism as protests or revolution.
A huge number of protesters have taken to the streets in the occupied Palestinian territories for the past seven months to condemn the Israeli extremist cabinet's policies, including its so-called judicial overhaul plan.
