Tehran-Parand Subway to Be Inaugurated Next Month

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The CEO of Iran's New Towns Development Company announced that the Tehran-Parand Subway will become operational the next month, coinciding with Government Week in Iran.

Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and CEO of New Towns Development Company Alireza Jafari in an interview with the reporter of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development expounded on the upcoming inauguration of the Tehran-Parand Subway.

The 19-km Tehran-Parand Subway, with over 75% physical progress, will be operational on the occasion of Government Week in Iran next month, he stated.  

The Tehran Municipality is the contractee of this subway, he said, adding, "Considering that it serves the citizens of the Parand New Town, based on the budget approved, the New Towns Development provided 7,000 billion IRR credit for the construction operation of this giant project."  

He went on to say that the Tehran Municipality invested 20,000 billion IRR for the construction operation of this subway. 

Additionally, the Tehran-Hashtgerd Subway will be launched with the finalization of the signaling as it has 99% physical progress, Jafari further mentioned. 

Parand is a new town in the Central District of Robat Karim County, in Tehran.
