IMF Predicts Iran’s Economy to Grow 2.5% in 2023
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its latest report increased Iran’s economic growth rate in 2022 to 3.5 percent, anticipating that Iran’s economy will register a 2.5 percent growth in 2023.
In its “World Economic Outlook” report, which is published once every three months, the IMF assessed Iran’s economic growth and predicted that Iran’s economy will experience a 2.5 percent growth in 2023.
This is while the IMF had predicted a two-percent economic growth for Iran in the current year in its report in April.
Also, the IMF has increased its estimation of Iran’s economic growth in 2022.
In its report released in April, the monetary body had put Iran’s economic growth in 2022 at 2.5 percent but in its latest report, it said the country had a 3.5 percent economic growth last year.
The report added that the 3.5 percent economic growth for Iran in 2022 equaled the average economic growth of the world in that year, exceeding the economic growth of many countries including Canada, China, Germany, South Korea and the US.
