Iran Greco-Roman Crowned Champion of U-17 World Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Greco-Roman team won the title of the 2023 U-17 World Wrestling Championships on Wednesday.
Payam Ahmadi in 49kg and Ahmad Reza Mohammadian in 71kg won a gold and a silver medal respectively.
Alireza Amiri in 45kg and Amir Hossein Abdevali in 110kg also seized two bronze medals.
Iran won the title with 113 points, with Azerbaijan finishing a close second with 108 points. Georgia secured the third spot with 96 points.
The 2023 U-17 World Wrestling Championships started on July 31 in Istanbul, Turkey and will run until August 6.
