Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestlers Win Two Medals at U-17 Worlds

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers Payam Ahmadi and Amir Hossein Abdevali claimed two medals at the U-17 World Championships on Tuesday.

Ahmadi defeated Shakhzod Ruziokhunov from Uzbekistan 4-0 in the 49kg final bout and the bronze medals went to Armenian Edgar Petrosyan and Elnar Ziyadov from Azerbaijan.

Abdevali also won the bronze medal after beating Mohamed Ahmed from Egypt 2-0 in 110kg.

The 2023 U-17 World Wrestling Championships started on July 31 in Istanbul, Turkey and will run until August 6.
