Tasnim Launches Space News Section
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Tasnim News Agency of Iran unveiled a new category of news about space sciences and astronomy on Thursday.
The new category, publishing space news in five languages, was unveiled in a ceremony attended by the Iranian Administration's Spokesperson Ali Bahadori Jahromi, Head of Iran Space Agency (ISA) Hassan Salariyeh, Head of Iran’s Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences Mohammad Javad Larijani, Spokesperson for the Defense Ministry’s Space Division Ahmad Hosseini Mounes, and a number of Iranian space and astronomy scientists.
Space and astronomy sciences are known as the cutting-edge technologies in the contemporary era, whose progress would contribute to the development of a country in other sectors and industries.
Space technologies have a broad range of applications as in environmental protection, agriculture, navigation and positioning, tackling drought and climate change, media technologies and satellites, and management of natural disasters such as floods and wildfires.
The space industry has become so strategic and extensive nowadays that developed countries spend hundreds of billions of dollars on it every year.
