Choubani Claims Silver at U-20 World Wrestling Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Abolfazl Choubani won a silver medal at the U-20 World Wrestling Championships 2023 on Saturday.
The Greco-Roman wrestler lost to Georgian Achiko Bolkvadze 4-1 in the final bout of 87kg.
His compatriots Ahmad Reza Mohsennezhad and Alireza Abdevali had earlier won two gold medals in 63kg and 77kg.
The 2023 U-20 World Championships started in Amman, Jordan on August 14 and will run until August 20.
Iran’s freestyle team won the title with 165 points, followed by the US and India with 152 and 102 points, respectively.
