Iran’s Abdevali Takes Gold at U-20 World Wrestling Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Alireza Abdevali claimed a gold medal at the U-20 World Wrestling Championships 2023 on Saturday.
The Greco-Roman wrestler defeated Moldovan Alexandru Solovei in the final bout of 77kg.
His compatriot Ahmad Reza Mohsennezhad had won a gold medal in the 63kg earlier in the day.
The 2023 U-20 World Championships started in Amman, Jordan on August 14 and will run until August 20.
Iran’s freestyle team won the title with 165 points, followed by the US and India with 152 and 102 points, respectively.
