Tractor Fails to Advance to 2023-24 ACL Group Stage
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Tractor was defeated against the UAE’s Sharjah 3-1 in the 2023-24 AFC Champions League playoff on Tuesday.
In the match, held in Tabriz’s Yadegar Emam Stadium, Shaheen Abdalla found the back of the net with a header in the 25th minute.
Osmane Camara made it 2-0 for the visiting team in the 84th minute but substitute Mehdi Hashemnejad pulled a goal back two minutes later.
Caio Lucas scored the third goal for Sharjah in the 90th minute from the penalty spot and the Emirati side booked its spot in Thursday’s group stage draw for the AFC Champions League 2023-24 season.
