33 Major Oil Projects Inaugurated in Two Years: Iran’s Oil Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Thirty-three semi-finished oil projects, costing $12 billion, have been inaugurated since the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi assumed office in August 2021, Iran’s oil minister said.
Javad Owji pointed to the achievements of the Oil Ministry in the current administration and added that the oil output has reached 3.3 million barrels of per day (bpd).
According to the scheduled program, the oil production will reach 3.4 million bpd by the end of the Iranian month of Shahrivar (Sept. 22), the oil minister added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Owji pointed to the investment made in the oil sector and said 33 semi-finished oil projects, worth about $12 billion, were put into operation in 2022.
The minister said that Phase II of Abadan Oil Refinery, with a production capacity of 210,000 barrels of oil per day and also Phase 14 of South Pars, with a production capacity of 50 million bpd, were inaugurated in this period.
Also 67 oil projects, valued at $15 billion, will be put into operation before the end of the current year (March 20, 2024), he said, referring to the planned launch of projects at Phase 11 of South Pars next week as one of the major ones.
