Iran, Uzbekistan Stress Cooperation in Halal Products, Renewable Energy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The heads of the national standard organizations of Iran and the Republic of Uzbekistan emphasized the need for enhancing cooperation in the fields of halal products and renewable energies.

During a meeting on the sidelines of the General Assembly (GA) of the International Standards Organization (ISO), held in Brisbane of Australia on Tuesday, Head of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) Mehdi Eslampanah pointed to the strategy determined by the presidents of the two countries to expand and bolster bilateral cooperation and said that the ISIRI is ready to cooperate with Uzbekistan in the fields of renewable energies, testing electric cars, halal standards and other areas of mutual interest.

He referred to the Islamic World National Quality Award held for the first time at the initiative taken by the ISIRI and voiced the ISIRI's readiness to share experiences in the relevant field and to organize training courses regarding halal products for Uzbek experts.

The ISIRI chief proposed that standard organizations of the two countries should set up joint working groups in the shortest time possible and the Uzbek side welcomed the idea.

The head of Uzbekistan National Standards Organization also invited his Iranian counterpart to visit Uzbekistan in the near future.
