Iran, Egypt Discuss Ways to Build Up Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Top diplomats from Iran and Egypt held what the Iranian Foreign Ministry described as “positive and fruitful” talks in New York to strengthen relations and fulfill the two countries’ mutual interests through constant dialogue.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry held a meeting on the sidelines of the 78th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.
The two diplomats held positive and fruitful talks about the issues of mutual interest, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.
Highlighting the civilizational and historical background of the two nations and their cultural commonalities, Amirabdollahian and Shoukry have stressed the need to pave the way for the fulfillment of mutual interests through constant dialogue among the officials of the two nations.
They also emphasized that stronger relations and cooperation between Iran and Egypt will serve the interests of the two Muslim nations and have positive implications for the region.
