Iranian Athletes Advance to Hangzhou 100m Semifinals

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian sprinters Hamideh Esmaeilnezhad and Hassan Taftian advanced to the semifinals round of the 100m in the 2022 Asian Games on Friday.

Esmaeilnezhad finished the line with a time of 11.57 seconds in the women’s 100m. Chinese athlete Yongli Wei finished first, clocking 11.35 seconds.

Taftian also secured his place in the semifinals round in the men’s 100m with 10.42 seconds. Malaysian Azeem Bin Mohd Fahmi Muhammad came first with 10.28 seconds.

A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to Hangzhou in 34 sports events.
