Iran Exports $2.3 Billion of Oil Byproducts in 6 Months: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Products' Exporters Union said $2.3 billion of oil products including bitumen, hydrocarbon and lubricants were exported overseas in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Ahmad Ma’roufkhani expressed hope that the export of oil byproducts will increase as constructive decisions have been adopted on the formulation of 7th Five-Year Socioeconomic and Cultural Development Plan.

He went on to say that approx. $22 billion worth of products were exported from the country between March 21 and September 22, 2023.

In return, $30 billion worth of products were imported into the country in this timespan, Ma’roufkhani added.
