TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy affairs announced the signing of contracts for exporting domestically manufactured cars to target countries, including Russia and Belarus.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the National Day of Exports on Saturday, Mehdi Safari said that promoting trade with neighboring states and African, Latin American and East Asian countries is the main policy taken by the current administration.
He pointed to the export of technical and engineering services by knowledge-based companies and added that between $300 million and $400 million worth of knowledge-based projects for exports are underway.
Efforts have been made for exporting domestically-manufactured cars to target countries, including Russia and Belarus, he said, adding that the country inked very good contracts with other countries in this field.
Yielding foreign exchange is not possible only through exports, rather, the export of technical and engineering services can bring about foreign exchange for the country, Safari highlighted.
Hence, focusing on the export of technical and engineering services and also products of knowledge-based companies have been emphasized by President Ebrahim Raisi, the deputy foreign minister added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Safari emphasized that Iran is ready to export non-oil products and technical-engineering services to member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS group of emerging economies.
He added that Iran’s accession to SCO and BRICS has provided new facilities for exporting products to these countries.
