Over 26,000 Tons of Greenhouse Products Exported to Russia from Tehran Province: Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of the agricultural organization of Tehran Province said the province exported more than 26,000 tons of summer crops and greenhouse agricultural-horticultural products to the Russian Federation in a year.
In his visit to Russia to participate in “Made in Russia” Exhibition held in Moscow, Jebreil Baradari pointed to Iran’s export potential and capabilities in the agricultural sector and said 26,000 tons of different types of peppers, eggplants, lettuces, celeries and tomatoes produced in Tehran have been exported to Russia since March 21, 2022.
Most of these products have been exported to Russia via Astara Border, he added.
In addition, 36,000 tons of pistachios with/without shell, saffrons, edible mushrooms, dried vegetables and medicinal herbs were exported from Tehran in the past year, Baradari continued.
He pointed out that provincial farmers prefer to export their products to Russia due to the easy exchange and transfer of money compared to other European countries.
