Hamas Highlights New Strategic Balance after Al-Aqsa Storm Operation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The region is experiencing new strategic balance following the Al-Aqsa Storm operation outside Gaza, Head of Hamas' Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh said.

In a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Monday,Haniyeh said the resistance front has established “new strategic balance in the region” after the Hamas fighters launched the Al-Aqsa Storm operation on October 7.

Lauding Iran for supporting the people of Palestine and adopting active Islamic diplomacy to help Gaza which is buckling under the brutal Israeli strikes, Haniyeh denounced the US’ unwavering support for the Zionist regime as a main reason for the continued crimes committed by the “Neo-Nazi” Israeli regime.

The Zionist regime’s barbaric and blind strikes on defenseless civilians in Gaza reveal Israel’s failure in the face of the Palestinian people’s courageous resistance, he added.

The Hamas official also described the severe shortage of medicine in Gaza and the hospital generators running out of fuel as a portent of a major humanitarian catastrophe in the enclave.

In a separate phone call with Amirabdollahian, Leader of the Islamic Jihad Movement Ziyad al-Nakhalah said the morale among the resistance forces is high despite the Israeli massacre of women and children and destruction of houses in Gaza.

“We will vigorously continue to fight against the Zionist regime’s extensive aggression. The enemy won’t be able to shatter the resistance’s determination,” he stated.

The Iranian foreign minister, for his part, reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s support for the people of Palestine, calling for an immediate end to the Israeli regime’s heinous crimes in Gaza and for the constant delivery of humanitarian aid supplies to the enclave through the Rafah border crossing.

At least 4,651 Palestinians have been killed and more than 14,000 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 7, when Hamas launched a surprise operation outside Gaza.

Some 400 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli air attacks on Gaza in the last 24 hours alone.
