Iran, EAEU Likely to Ink FTA by Yearend: TPOI

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The adviser to the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) for International Affairs said it is likely that a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Iran and the EAEU’s member states will be inked by the end of 2023.

Mirhadi Seyyedi made the remarks on Tuesday and stated that signing the FTA will enhance bilateral relations in the fields of trade and economy.

The FTA will likely be inked between the two sides after the 2nd Eurasia EXPO 2023 and by the end of the current year, he stated.

Seyyedi added that the four-year experience of implementation of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Iran and EAEU has been positive.

Until before the implementation of the PTA, the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and the EAEU stood at $2.5 billion, but it then reached $5 billion, showing a considerable hike, he stressed.
