Operation Al-Aqsa Storm Inflicted Unforgettable, Stunning Defeat on Israel: IRGC Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said the Al-Aqsa Storm operation carried out by the Hamas resistance movement earlier this month inflicted one of the most unforgettable and stunning defeats on Israel.

In remarks at a summit in the holy city of Mashhad on Thursday, Major General Hossein Salami said the operation left the occupying regime and its allies “crumbled together.”

His remarks come as the Tel Aviv regime remains in shock over the successful Operation Al-Aqsa Storm that was conducted by Hamas on October 7.

“Their defeat in Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was one of the most unforgettable, stunning and unprecedented defeats that crumbled the US, the UK and Israel together,” he said.

“The United States bears responsibility for today’s developments in Palestine as it has been trying for years to portray the occupying regime as an angel of democracy and create a (positive) image for them.”

Salami also noted that the US is seeking to resuscitate Israel after its humiliating defeat.

“In the Muslim world, the Zionists are like an unwanted foreign object that has been implanted in this region and start new bleedings every time and again,” he added, Press TV reported.

Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in response to Israel’s violations at al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East al-Quds and growing settler violence against Palestinians.

The surprise raid shook the occupying entity’s security establishment, leaving 1,400 Israelis dead.

In response, the Tel Aviv regime launched deadly strikes on the besieged Gaza Strip, killing 7,165 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 18,000 others.

It has also imposed a "complete siege" on Gaza, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living in the coastal enclave.
