Israeli Airstrikes Rattle Gaza City's Foundations, Displacing Thousands

The stated goal of these attacks is to target bunkers and tunnels used by Palestinian resistance forces, but the result has been the destruction of numerous residential structures, leaving the people of Gaza City with limited shelter.

The situation in local hospitals has worsened, marked by severe shortages of fuel, equipment, and supplies, all while being exposed to the constant threat of attack. The roads leading to al-Shifa Hospital have also suffered damage, posing significant challenges for ambulance services in transporting patients.

In the southern region of Rafah, Israeli airstrikes have intensified the crisis, resulting in reports of more than 20 casualties, with some individuals still trapped under the debris.

In the past month, the ongoing Israeli bombardment in the Gaza Strip has displaced a staggering 70 percent of the population in the besieged enclave, according to Gaza's media office. Of the 2.3 million people residing in Gaza, at least 1.61 million have been forced to flee their homes due to the continuous bombings and shelling.

This violence has already claimed the lives of more than 10,000 people, including approximately 4,100 children.

The media office's statement also revealed that two percent of the total population of the Gaza Strip has directly suffered as a result of the Israeli aggression, either through death or injury.
