CBI Governor in Oman for Bolstering Monetary-Banking Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammad Reza Farzin arrived in the Omani capital of Muscat on Sunday for talks on strengthening mutual ties in the banking and monetary fields.
Holding high-profile talks with Omani officials in line with the development and promotion of monetary, financial and banking ties as well as boosting trade and economic relations between Tehran and Muscat have been cited as the main aims of the visit.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari accompanies the CBI governor in this visit.
Earlier, in a meeting held between Farzin and Oman's minister of commerce, industry, and investment development, the two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening monetary ties by using the national currencies in commercial transactions rather than the dollar.
