Iran’s Exports of Agricultural, Food Products to Africa Up 18% in 8 Months: Official

Iran’s export of food and agricultural products to African countries from March 21 to November 22, 2023 registered an 18 percent growth compared to last year’s corresponding period, Rouhollah Latifi stated.
The African continent, with a population of more than 1.3 billion, has rich natural resources and is a good and lucrative market for various Iranian goods and commodities, he emphasized.
The high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic have placed special emphasis on boosting trade and economic ties with African states, he said, adding that Iran has witnessed considerable growth in export of its products to Africa especially in the past two years.
Giant steps have been taken during the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi in enhancing trade and economic ties with the African states, Latifi underlined.
It is hoped that Iran’s export of products to the 55 African countries will reach more than $10 billion in the coming years, the director general added, YJC reported.
According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Somalia, Libya, Ivory Coast, Kenya and Algeria imported $11 million, $4.9 million, $4.1 million, $2.1 million and $1.2 million worth of products from Iran from March 21 to November 22, 2023 respectively, he added.
