Terrorist Acts Cannot Undermine Iranian Nation’s Unity, Will: President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi underscored that acts of terrorism cannot undermine the national unity and will of the Iranian nation.
Speaking in a phone conversation with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Wednesday evening, Raisi referred to a terrorist attack in the southern city of Kerman earlier in the day and said, “The Iranian nation has proven that terrorist acts cannot disrupt their will, national cohesion and resilient spirit”.
He added that this crime took place on the anniversary and near the tomb of martyr Qassem Soleimani, who is known in the region and the world as a hero in the fight against terrorism.
He further stated, “The Zionists are desperately seeking to spread insecurity to other parts of the region due to the global attack against them and the failure to achieve the results they expected”.
Raisi also thanked the Emir of Qatar for his sympathy with the Iranian nation.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president expressed hope that with the coordination and consultation of most Islamic countries, the war machine of the Zionist regime will be stopped as soon as possible and the oppressed people of Gaza will be freed from this situation.
He went on to say that the continuation of communication and contacts between Iran and Qatar at different levels will definitely lead to the development of bilateral, regional and international relations and will be effective in the joint fight against the criminality of the Zionist regime, the website of the president’s office reported.
The Emir of Qatar, for his part, strongly condemned the cowardly crime of terrorist attack on the pilgrims of martyrs’ graveyard of Kerman, expressing his condolences and sympathy to the government and nation of Iran for the loss of life of a group of Iranian citizens in this terrorist attack.
“This criminal act was carried out by those who seek to make Iran insecure, but we are confident in the national unity of the Iranian nation and we stand by you,” he stated.
The Emir of Qatar further said, “We must work together and through deeper consultations with the countries of the region and the Islamic world to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Gaza”.
