Iranian FM Leaves for Saudi Arabia for OIC Emergency Meeting on Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Iran Hossein Amirabdollahian left Tehran for Jeddah on Tuesday to take part in an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) about the Gaza crisis.
Iran is one of the initiators of the proposal to convene the emergency OIC ministerial meeting to address the critical situation in Palestine and help the people of Gaza, over 30,000 of whom have been killed in the Israeli strikes during the past four months.
Amirabdollahian is going to deliver an address to the conference in Jeddah, where the OIC headquarters is located, and offer plans to assist Palestine, settle the crisis in Gaza and put an immediate end to the Zionist regime’s onslaught on the besieged enclave.
The top Iranian diplomat had a meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Tehran Abdullah bin Saud al-Anzi before departing for Jeddah.
At least 30,534 Palestinians have been killed and 71,920 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
The number of children who have died as a result of malnutrition and inadequate medical care in Gaza has increased to 16 after Gaza’s Health Ministry confirmed the deaths of 15 children at Kamal Adwan Hospital.
