Iran Raps US’ Conduct in Sanctions Removal Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian foreign minister took a swipe at the US for its contradictory behavior and lack of commitment in the course of talks on the removal of sanctions on Iran and the potential revival of the 2015 nuclear deal.
In a telephone conversation with his Omani counterpart on Friday, Hossein Amirabdollahian denounced the conflicting behavior of the United States and its violation of commitments in the sanctions removal negotiations.
He also appreciated the relentless efforts and the initiative put forth by the Sultan of Oman to that end.
Amirabdollahian then extended greetings from the Iranian president to the Sultan of Oman and said their important meetings in Muscat and Tehran have positively affected bilateral relations, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
The Omani minister, for his part, extended the warm greetings from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman to the Iranian president.
The two senior diplomats further hailed the progressing relations between Tehran and Muscat and discussed a range of regional issues, including the crisis in Gaza and the West Bank.
Pointing to the recent resolution adopted in an emergency ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah, Amirabdollahian and Albusaidi underscored the need for collective efforts by the Muslim countries to immediately stop the Israeli regime's genocide and send humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip.
At least 30,878 Palestinians have been killed and 72,402 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
