Iran’s Taekwondo Athlete Nematzadeh Secures 2024 Paris Berth

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Female taekwondo athlete Mobina Nematzadeh of Iran earned a quota for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Nematzadeh, 18, first beat Timor-Leste Ana Da Costa in two rounds in the quarterfinals and then defeated Japan’s Ruka Okamoto and advanced to the final match.

Two other Iranians, Nahid Kiani at the -57kg category and Mehran Barkhordari at the -80kg had previously earned two quotas for the Games.

There will be 16 quotas for the Paris 2024 Olympic taekwondo event on offer at the 2024 Asian Qualification Tournament, taking place on March 15 and 16 in Tai’an, China.
