Iran Imports $8.4 Billion of Auto, Motorcycle Parts in One Year: IRICA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran imported $8.4 billion of automotive and motorcycle parts in the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023, to March 19, 2024), showing a 32.69 percent hike compared to a year earlier.

The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) announced this, adding that the country exported $141.218 million worth of auto and motorcycle components and parts in this period, showing a 24.35 percent growth compared to the previous year, IRNA reported.

Mohammad Rezvanifar went on to add that $132.585 million of automotive parts and components were exported from the country in the last Iranian calendar year, registering a 25.21 percent up compared to a year before.

The deputy minister of economy pointed out that China, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey were the three main countries importing automotive parts and components from Iran in the reported fiscal year.

Iran exported more than $8 million of motorcycle parts and components to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan last year, he said, adding that more than $782 million of motorcycle parts and components have been imported into the country in this period.

More than $60 billion of goods were imported into the country in the previous Iranian calendar year, about $8.4 billion of which were earmarked for the import of automotive and motorcycle parts and components, the IRICA chief added.
