Pakistan to Continue Closer Interaction with Iran to Secure Mutual Interests: Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Pakistan’s minister of oil said his country is interested in establishing very close cooperation with Iran with the aim of meeting the mutual interests of the two nations.

Musadik Masood Malik made the comment in Islamabad after meeting with his Iranian counterpart Javad Owji on Monday, stating that very constructive talks were exchanged between the two sides and these interactions will continue in the future to secure mutual interests.

The two countries have ample opportunities for further deepening cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, he emphasized.

Malik pointed to the landmark visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Pakistan and sai it would help bolster bilateral relations in all fields.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the joint gas project between Iran and Pakistan and said the first stage of talks was held successfully and Pakistan is keen to continue the talks in the future, IRNA reported.

Heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, Raisi has traveled to Pakistan on an official visit at the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart to bolster relations in all fields.
