Iranian-Made Cars Have Customers in Europe, Africa: Industry Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – African and some European countries have welcomed Iranian-manufactured cars due to their high quality, Iran’s minister of industry, mine and trade said.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 6th Export Potential Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran dubbed "Iran Expo 2024", Abbas Aliabadi added that the development of export markets is very important for the country and is in line with the materialization of the current year’s slogan of “Production Jump with People’s Participation”.

Regarding the situation of the energy supply for the country's industries, Aliabadi noted that industrial and production units of the country should be provided with water and electricity resources continually so that industries would be able to continue their production activities.

The African continent has ample investment opportunities, one of which is extraterritorial cultivation, he said, adding that Iran’s relation with African countries is based on a win-win strategy.

Aliabadi put the number of cars produced in the country last year (March 21, 2023 to March 19, 2024) at more than 1.3 million and said planning is underway to increase the car production volume in the current year (started March 20, 2024).
