300 Flights from Najaf, Baghdad Airports to Iran Planned during Arbaeen

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s deputy minister of roads and urban development for transportation affairs said that planning is underway to conduct 300 flights from Najaf and Baghdad airports to Iran during the Arbaeen season.

Kamal Hadianfar also revealed a plan for launching of the first Khorramshahr-Basra shipping line during the current year’s Arbaeen rituals.

He pointed to the significance of the issue of transportation of pilgrims during Arbaeen ceremonies and pointed out that facilitating the transit of pilgrims and ensuring the safety of pilgrims through road, rail and air sectors should be taken into serious consideration, Mehr news agency reported. 

Negotiations have been held between Iranian and Iraqi officials to offer quality services to the pilgrims during Arbaeen rituals, he said, adding that following the talks held between the two sides, it was decided that 300 flights will be conducted from Najaf and Baghdad airports to Iran for the transfer of pilgrims. 

Completion of the construction operation of eight infrastructural projects and planning for optimal use of the domestic transportation fleet for easy transfer of pilgrims are among other measures by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development for Arbaeen, the deputy roads minister added.
