Iraqi Resistance Launches Drone Attack on Israeli Target in Haifa
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Islamic Resistance of Iraq said its forces have carried out a drone strike on a "vital target" in Haifa in the occupied Palestinian territories, highlighting its support for Gaza amid Israel's onslaught.
The announcement was made through a statement by the umbrella group representing Iraq's anti-terror movements.
"The fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, on Monday at dawn 6/3/2024, hit a vital target in Haifa in our occupied lands using drones," the statement read.
The resistance group emphasized that the attack was a response to the crimes of the Israeli regime against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, and in support of the people of Gaza, as it vowed to continue targeting the enemy’s strongholds.
This operation followed another series of drone strikes conducted by the Iraqi resistance, targeting an oil refinery and another significant location in Haifa.
On Sunday, the Islamic Resistance of Iraq reported a drone strike on an Israeli target at the port of Eilat, also known as Umm Al-Rashrash, in the occupied Palestinian territories.
These attacks are part of a series of actions taken by the group in response to a genocidal war waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip since early October.
Israel waged the atrocious onslaught against Gaza after Palestinian resistance movements launched an operation on October 7, targeting the Israeli regime.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, the Israeli war has resulted in the deaths of 36,439 civilians, primarily women and children, and injured 82,627 others.
