Iraq’s Islamic Resistance Hits Israeli Target in Golan Heights
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iraq’s Islamic Resistance announced on Monday that it had struck an Israeli military target in the Golan Heights, occupied by Israel since 1967, using kamikaze drones.
The umbrella group of anti-terror fighters made the announcement in a statement, describing the operation as a continuation of their resistance against the occupation.
The Golan Heights have been under Israeli control since a large-scale war in 1967 involving several regional Arab states, including Syria.
The resistance coalition stated that the drone strike was conducted "in support of our people in Palestine, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians including children, women, and the elderly."
Since October 7 of last year, the group has carried out multiple operations against the occupied territories following Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in the deaths of over 37,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children.
The Iraqi resistance concluded its statement by pledging to "continue striking the enemy's strongholds."
In a previous statement on Saturday, the resistance claimed responsibility for a drone attack on a "vital" and strategic Israeli position, describing it as part of the second phase of operations against the Israeli regime in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
