Iran Imports 6.6 Tons of Gold Ingots in 3-Month Period: IRICA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Some 6.6 tons of gold ingots were discharged and imported into the customs offices of Iran in the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20 to May 22, 2024), registering a more than threefold hike compared to last year’s corresponding period.

The value of the standard gold ingots imported into the country in this timespan hit $476 million.

According to the report, 2 tons of gold ingots, valued at $130 million, had been imported into the country from March to May 2023.

According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), 91.64 percent of the gold ingots were imported into the country through the Imam Khomeini (RA) Customs Office, ILNA reported.
