Iran Hosts ACD Meeting

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The 19th meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) kicked off in Tehran on Monday, June 24.

The ACD ministerial meeting has been attended by 41 delegations from the Asian countries and international organizations.

Iran was elected as the chair of the ACD in September 2023.

Caretaker Foreign Minister of Iran Ali Baqeri presides over the meeting in Tehran.

“We are honored to host & chair ACD Ministerial meeting in Tehran tomorrow. 41 delegations from MS’s and intl’ orgs will participate. This event provides a platform for strengthening cooperation among Asian countries and indicates the Asian urge for multilateralism and inclusion,” Baqeri said in his X account on Sunday.

Founded in 2002 in Cha-Am, Thailand, the Asia Cooperation Dialogue is a continent-wide forum and the first of its kind in Asia. It now has 35 members.
