Iran Enhances Trade Transactions with Neighbors: TPOI
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s trade ties with neighboring and Asian states significantly increased during the administration of the late President Ebrahim Raisi, the director general of the Indian Subcontinent Office of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said.
Stressing the economic diplomacy defined in the administration of the late president, Hadi Talebian Moghadam said that the 13th administration sought to expand trade and economic ties with eastern and Asian countries.
The TPOI official also pointed to the achievements made in the Iran Expo 2024 and said the economic event was attended by India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
On the sidelines of the Iran Expo 2024, the Iran-Sri Lanka Economic Commission and the Iran-India Subcontinent Economic Commission were also launched to spur trade and economic activities, he continued, Mehr news agency reported.
Talebian Moghadam also pointed to the launch of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Iran and Pakistan and said signing the agreement will spur trade and economic activities between the two countries.
