Iran Imports 12 Tons of Gold Ingots in 4-Month Period: Economy Minister


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran imported 12 tons of gold ingots in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024), according to the economy minister.

Speaking on the sidelines of the last weekly cabinet meeting of the administration of the late President Ebrahim Raisi, Ehsan Khandouzi noted that three tons of gold ingot had been imported into the country in the same period last year. 

Pointing to the administration’s performance in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, the economy minister said the country’s export of non-oil commodities during the period reached $17.463 billion, indicating an increase of eight percent compared to the same period last year.

He also said that the country’s import of non-oil goods registered a six percent growth compared to last year’s corresponding period.
