Iran’s Export of Agricultural Products Up 32% in 4 Months


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than two million tons of agricultural products were exported from Iran in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024), showing a 32 percent growth compared to last year’s corresponding period.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) announced that 2.226 million tons of agricultural products, valued at $1.18 billion, were exported from the country between March 21 and July 22, 2024, registering a 22 and a 32 percent growth in weight and value, respectively.

In this period, Iran exported $273 million of pistachios, indicating a 193 percent growth compared to the same period last year, it said, according to IRNA.

This report added that $147 million, $108 million and $96 million of tomatoes, apples and watermelons were exported from the country in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year.

Iran’s foreign trade in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year reached $36 billion, oil excluded, IRICA stated.
