Iran’s New Admin Unaffected by Assassination of Haniyeh: VP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will seriously follow up the case of assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, so that the enemies would not perceive that the incoming administration may have been impaired in the beginning, First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said.

Addressing a Wednesday meeting of the cabinet, Aref condemned the criminal terror attack that killed Haniyeh in Tehran.

He stressed that the administration will seriously and vigorously follow up on the case to prevent the enemies from feeling that they have harmed the Islamic Republic at the outset of the tenure of the “national consensus administration”.

Such evil activities cannot undermine Iran’s great power and capabilities, he added.

“The resistance front will undoubtedly keep to its path, as our people and establishment will have no doubt or hesitate about helping the Islamic resistance and assisting the oppressed Palestinian nation,” Aref stated.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has warned the Zionist regime that it will receive a “harsh punishment” for the assassination of Haniyeh.

Haniyeh was martyred in a special residence in northern Tehran after being hit by an aerial projectile in the early hours of Wednesday, July 31.
