Saudi Arabia's King Sends Message to Iran’s President on Bilateral Relations
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a written message to Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding the relations between the two nations.
The message was delivered by Minister of State Prince Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz during his visit to Tehran on Tuesday.
He attended the swearing-in ceremony of Pezeshkian, according to the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.
In a subsequent meeting, Prince Mansour conveyed the greetings of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Iranian president.
He expressed wishes for further progress and prosperity for the government and people of Iran.
Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji and the Saudi ambassador to Tehran, Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anzi, were also present at the meeting.
The president of Iran, in this meeting, thanked the Saudi king and crown prince for their kind message.
Pezeshkian described his detailed conversation with the Saudi crown prince as constructive and stated: "The relationship between Iran and Saudi Arabia, in addition to considerations of neighborhood and brotherly and sincere exchanges, is also tied with religious and ideological commonalities, which have united us as one entity."
The Iranian president added: "Enemies and ill-wishers are seeking to create discord between the two countries to achieve their illegitimate goals. Iran and Saudi Arabia must counteract such conspiracies with vigilance, unity, and cohesion."
Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, the special representative of the King of Saudi Arabia, also conveyed the best congratulations of the king and crown prince of Saudi Arabia to Pezeshkian in this meeting. He stated: "The long-standing relations between the two countries are based on shared history and culture, as well as neighborhood and brotherhood, and one religion has united the two nations."
Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri and several other officials attended the gathering.
Pezeshkian took the oath of office during a ceremony at the Iranian Parliament on Tuesday, which saw the attendance of dignitaries from more than 80 countries.
